Healthy Homemade Hummus Recipe

  • 1 can garbanzo beans
  • 1 T lemon juice
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • ½ t ground cumin
  • ½ salt

Blend all ingredients in a food processor until desired consistency.

Here are three tips from DonerG to make this the freshest and tastiest healthy homemade hummus:

  • Cook canned or leftover cooked chickpeas.
  • Don’t skimp on tahini – use ½ cup tahini per can of chickpeas.
  • Use fresh lemon juice.
  • Mince the garlic in the food processor or blender with lemon juice and let that mixture rest for a few minutes, so that the garlic flavor blends in and does not have that raw bite.
