Donner G, which bills itself as a Turkish and Mediterranean grill, will be moving into the space formerly occupied by Pita Grill in Irvine. The restaurant has had a single U.S.-location in Anaheim for four years but there are numerous locations in Istanbul and Turkey, said Yalcin Aslan, the restaurant’s owner.
He said their specialty is their gyros (pronounced jai-row) of marinated beef or chicken.
Aslan has Irvine roots. He went to UC Irvine where he earned a masters degree in marketing, and he’s lived in the city for the past 10 years.
